I am currently in the process of getting a M1 Garand made by Winchester with a Danish VAR barrel. Its stock is pretty worn and I was looking for a more decent looking stock.

So does anyone know where to get a good well priced Garand stock? Will this job require any extra fitting?

The Cabela's model looks good and at a good price for a beater:

Walnut Stock

At 60$ it seems like a decent deal.

Cabellas is probably just reselling Boyds' stocks. These can be found most places, such as Brownells. See www.boydboys.com/

I'd go with Boyds. If you are any good with wood, check out the clearance "stock pile". You can get mis-mathced sets. Usually all they need is refinished to match. All Boyds stocks require some minor fitting. Also, the outer dimensions are "fatter" than G.I..
