Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Adding 1913 Rail to my Remington 870P Max

I have a Rem. 870P Max.  It currently sports a Mesa Tactical Saddle Rail w/ Side Saddle and a Trijicon RMR.  The rail/saddle is all one part that attaches to the receiver by replacing the trigger pins.

I want to replace this system with the Vang Comp Velcro Side Saddle system because of its better versatility and quicker feeding of the gun.  But, I don't want to lose the rail on top.  So, I guess my only option is to permanently attach a rail to the receiver (drill and tap).  The gun already has the Wilson/Scattergun Ghost Rings attached, so I need a rail that will still fit on the receiver.  Any ideas?

I had the Vang Comp GRS and rail combination installed on my 14" 870, if you don't mind replacing the Wilson rear sight , its all one piece which I like. I have seen just the rail also, just can't remember where at the moment.

This and trim off enough length from the rear (if needed) to fit in front of the GR sight

I just drilled and tapped for this Trigicon rail and Ghost ring night sights. Not hard if you have the right stuff and know how to drill and tap properly. Hardest part is measuring and set up on the drill press.
