I'm looking at getting a PTR-91.

What kind of accessories are out there for this type of rifle?

What about mounting optics?

Thanks in advance for responses.

Now that's nice.

Oooooooooooooooooooooooh, that's nice...

Mmmm, Mmmmm, Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

I'm selling a motorcycle, so I think I see one of these in my future after I convert the scooter to raw fundage.

What are your shooting experiences with it?

BlackHawk sells a nice selection of buttstock pads. FWIW - the one shown with raised top ridge works best on HK, AR A2 (carry) and FAL's - the one with the pouch / shell holders works great on M1A's, AR's A4's(flattops) and Rem 700's. Color choices and camo patterns are available to match your furniture scheme.

Thanks for the compliments, guys!

a) The buttpad is a standard HK21E pad. They are hard to find, but I got mine from a source on HKPro.com. They run about $50-$60 bucks, but they are worth it! Genuine HK fit and quality. really helps absorb the recoil of the .308 round.

b) The cheekriser is from Blackhawk Industries. It was the only one I liked that allowed good cheek-weld with my claw-mount.

c) I bought a new buttstock and wide forearm from POF USA, and a Navy-style grip from Ergo. They were originally black, but I coated them all in Brownell's Alumahyde II OD Green. It has held up well in all weather conditions. I love Alumahyde II...

and the b&t rail makes it look all that meanacing

No B&T rail on my G3 clone. It caused my scope to interfere with the cocking lever. I am using a Tapco claw-mount that I refinished in Alumahyde Flat Black.

My B&T low-mount is going on my HK33K clone. I use an Aimpoint ML2 on the 33K, so there is no cocking lever interference. I can use a low-profile mount.

the b&t rail im refering to is the whole forearm

My mistake. I thought you were referring to my gun pictured.

Nice !

I like that cheekrest.
It's not permanently attached to the stock and it looks
like it shouldn't mark it up.

I have a saddleback cheekrest for mine that's made to be screwed
down and resined into place.
So far I haven't been able to make myself drill the holes !

If they have that with a pocket on the right side for a 20 round mag,
I'm buying one.

If they don't someboy needs to make one !

Mines a similar set up to yours right now, except I've replaced the stock buffer
with a G-3 Heavy Buffer .
That buffer combined with the HK21 soft rubber buttpad makes it a sweet and easy
Now my wife wants her turn when we're at the range ,and she
doesn't like to give it back !

Yeah, I didn't want to permanently attach a cheekrest. The Blackhawk was the best solution, and it was available in tacti-cool OD Green.

I like that cheekrest too. The sniper system that I used when I was in Special Forces was the M24. The raised cheekrest that we had on ours was up to our imagination, which normally consisted of foam and duct tape!

Haha! Hey man, whatever works, right? Thank you for your service!

This thread is REALLY making me wish that my PTR-91K would get here. I've already got a wide forend to replace the tactical one that they now come with and I've got a bipod on the way. Now I just need a good scope with mounts and I'll be all set. Oh, and one of those cheekrests.

I just wish that I had some pictures of these expensive M24s with thousand dollar scopes on them and duct tape (100 MPH tape) all over the cheekweld.

they have those cheekrests in black?
Link Posted: 12/21/2005 5:02:30 PM EST
I have the black on on my AK74. Nice and cheap from what I remember.
