I've decided that I can't live without an AR10..  I have a Ruger 77 Mk2 stainless that I plan to sell at next week's gun show and will "scrounge" the rest..   I need input about brands and prices..  The best deal I can find is a basic Armalite, flattop with a scope mount, new for $995..  Anyone know any better deal..I'd like basic good quality at a decent price..  I'm in Arizona..   All input will be appreciated..

That sounds like the Eagle Arms AR10A4 and that price is, I believe, exact MSRP.  You are right that it is a basic AR10 but you should have no problems with it at all.  I have the Armalite AR10A4 and recently picked up an AR10A2 carbine upper to go with it.  FUN FUN FUN!!

Contact Quantico Arms ([email protected]) and see what they have in stock and what they can do for you.  They aren't local for you but they have a good stock on Armalites and they are nice folks to boot!

Good decision to get that AR-10.  Of course I would say that as I have a couple !

You might give Todd Grove, Rapid Fire, 937 332-0833 a call.  He's not in your area so you would have shipping and a transfer fee but no sales tax.

I love my AR10T.  (Sounds like a T-Shirt, sorry)  Very impressive rifle.  I plan on buying a carbine upper as soon as funds permit.  Have fun with your new toy.

I have a Standard M1A and a Eagle Arms AR10, they both shoot ½ inch groupings @100 yards. I have been very happy with both of them.

I've got a AR10A4 with S/S barrel and with optics it will shoot 1/2 moa all day long at 100 yds..Mags are pricey but if you can find cheap G.I. or Chinese m1a mags you can get them converted for 5 for $100 from Armalite.

If you want a 308 battle rifle your choices are pretty much HK91(or CETME),FAL,M1A or AR10.Some people might argue about the current AR10 as a "Battle Rifle".

This could be a hard decision. You could build 2 FAL's for $1000,mags are very cheap now.You won't have the accuracy of a AR10 though. The M1A is VERY accurate but you don't have the cool factor. The HK will set you back $2000 +or-,EXTREMELY reliable but not as accurate as a AR10 or M1A.

It's 12 of one,a dozen of another decision. You won't go wrong with a AR10.I would go with a AR10A4 flattop. The reason is personally when I have optics on a weapon I want a clear field of view throgh my optics. To me it's distracting to see a front sight at all.Once again this is personally.

For this price you're probably looking at a Eagle Arms AR10.Nothing at all wrong with them but for future value you'r better off going with the Armalite line of products.

I've got it down to Armalite or Eagle AR10 with 20 to 24 inch barrel...   Where are the $$ differences in the two??
