Would it work in an FAL?

Its gonna be hard on barrels. That said I may be interested in the .243 version. If I have any money left when I am done with my AR.

Why doesn't somebody just neck a 20mm down to a .17 and show these companies how to do the high velocity thing.

You said it all in the title of your post.  New cartridges are cool, but most of the time they won't do anything that existing rounds won't do.  What is the velocity gain of the .223 WSSM over a .22-250 or .220 Swift?

One article gave the 223 about 200fps over the 22-250 and the 243 about 200 faster than the regular 243. This was projected not actual gun tests.
