They are good guns. Made by Imbel who is an FN licensed manufacturer of FALs.

Best FAL clone out there IMHO.  If you can get one, then do it.  Springfield no longer markets them.

I have a SAR48.  Vergy good gun.  Everything is interchangeable with the metric FAL.  The barrel is chrome-lined.  The only thing the factory rifle that is different from the FN FAL is the there are no numbers on the gas adjusment nut.  So when someone says set the gas adjustment nut on 2, going to have to count.

As an FN  licensed manufacturer, Imbel rifles imported by SA aren't clones they are the real deal.

What are clones however as the thousands of rifles assembled from kits using Imbel receivers. They run the gamut from great to shit depending on the quality of the kit andd skill of the builder, and as always buyer beware.

+1.

The SAR-48 was/is a top quality FAL. Like many other things, I wish I would have bought a couple of them back when they were marketed.

DSA FALs might    be a better rifle...but then again, at that level of build quality and craftsmanship, you are splitting hairs.

I just sold my Springfield Armory SAR-48 Bush rifle.  Quality is right there with my Belgium FAL.
