Im about to order an AAC Pilot 2 as my first suppressor. Will the S&W M&P 22 Compact make a good host?

The M&P22 Compact has been an EXCELLENT host for my Octane 45HD.  I'm sure when I get the call for my Sparrow it'll be a great host for that, too.

What is/are the reason(s) you chose the Pilot 2 over other offerings?

The Pilot 2 is in my price range and has a $200 AAC credit. I'm open to other suggestions though
Thanks

I was just wondering if the cost was a factor.  Or perhaps weight savings.

Personally I'd pick something with stainless steel baffles as that makes cleanup 100x easier when compared to anodized aluminum baffles.

I've heard that the Element 2 is the cat's meow on pistols.  It's a titanium tube and has stainless steel baffles, and is about double the price of the Pilot 2.

Or, if you can spend a little more than the Pilot 2 but not as much as the Element 2, the SilencerCo/SWR Spectre II is very comparable in performance to the Element II and Pilot 2, but has stainless steel baffles and a Click-To-Assembly baffle stack design so the fouling stays inside the baffles and doesn't adhere to the tube.

It's a design that works great, as I've seen on my Octane.

I am sure the Pilot 2 is a good can.....but I don't think any 22 suppressors can hold a candle to the SS-Sparrow or the Spectre.

Spectre is a BEAST of a can with stainless steel baffles and is rated for the following.

CALIBER:
.22 LR
.17 HMR
.22 MAG
.22 WMR
.22 HORNET
FN 5.7X28

The SS-Sparrow is on the cutting edge of silencer "TECH" with a super nice stainless steel monocore.

CALIBER:
.22 LR
.17 HMR
.22 MAG
.22 WMR
.22 Hornet
5.7×28 FN

Both are EXCELLENT choices....the Spectre is slightly quieter, but also a bit heavier......trade off.  The SS-Sparrow is rated at a 41dB noise reduction and the Spectre is even quieter......the Pilot 2 is rated at 36 dB reduction.  Very respectable in its own right.

Ok I might go with the Spectre II instead of the Pilot....
However, I just came across an oportunity to get a used Tactical Solutions Cascade Ti on the cheap.... Is that a good supressor?

I would never buy a 22LR can that isn't "user serviceable".  The Cascade cans are of the "CAN NOT TAKE APART" variety if I recall correctly.

I have a pilot 2. Very happy with it. Very quiet on a 10/22 and 22/45. Pretty accurate with bulk 22's. The skittish dog doesn't even bother to look up when I shoot from right next to him.

I bought both last week. Pilot 2 for super light and mainly as a dedicated 22/45 LITE can, and the Spectre II for any other all-around use.

How cheap is cheap? $75-100 might be worth it, depending on how many rounds were put through it.
