I just emptied my supply of HS6 and am switching to Unique the only data I have for the Unique shows 6.3 grains with a 115 grain JHP. I want to use 6.0 but even with the reduced capacity this load is compressed. Could one of you guys check your data and see if this is a safe load ?( Just want a cross check )
Thanks

Alliant says max with 115gr jacketed is 6.3

Lyman 49 says 5.8 gr max with 4.4 gr minimum load

my loads are 4.8 grains with a 115gr berry's plated

with FMJ I worked up to 5.5

i go supersonic around 5.3 grains from a glock 17. but for my plinking loads i just use 4.8 for both plated and FMJ

Thank you, I have the same Alliant data, and I came up with an older Sierra data which suggests a range from 4.2 thru 5.4 which is fairly close to your Lyman data. I'm going to use 5.2 which is good according to both Lyman and Sierra.
I suspect the Alliant data is warmer than I want,I think I did this a few years back and it beat the Hell out of one of my guns. I put them outside for a night in 30 below zero and ran the rest thru an old G-19. I can't remember for sure if that was the load, but I think it probably was.
Thanks again.

Not your bullet weight but my loads are 5.0-5.4 grains of Unique using 124 grain bullets and CCI 500 primers, various cases. With copper jacketed RN and HP's my load is 5.0-5.2. Using Alliant's data for 124 Gold Dots I load 5.4 grains.

I used 5.2 grains of Unique with 115 grain Remington JHP's seated at 1.110". This load functions great and gives good accuracy. The only down side is the slimy grey coating that this powder leaves behind. It cleans up easily, but is probably the dirtiest powder I have ever used.
