I just swapped the walnut stock set on my 870 Police with a synthetic set that came off off of an 870 Police. My wood set had the bearing plate between the stock and receiver. The synthetic set fits with a gap when used with the plate. Is the stock bearing plate used on the synthetic stocked 870 police guns?
Thanks for any info.

not needed for synthetic.  Is for wood.  I just did the opposite.  Shitcanned stock plastic for nice wood stock.

Finished 870 armorers class today.  If there is a space, it should be used.  It can mushroom the synthetic stock over time. I have seen this personally.  I have seen Speedfeeds that left a space and need it. I have also seen new Speedfeeds that are a little longer and do not.

Good Luck.
