I would like some advise in zeroing my VEPR-K and what distance I should use as my baseline battlesight zero.  On all my AR's I have been using the Santose improved battlesight zero at 50 yds. and this has let me take full advantage of the .223's relatively flat trajectory out to 300 yds or so.  I am not too familiar with the bullet-drop with the 7.62 round and would like to know what distance would be best for distances between 25-200 yds.

Zeroing it 3.5" high at 100 should put you dead on at 200 according to my Hornady charts.

Trajectory of the 7.62x39 round, using ball ammo, out to 300 meters, is as follows:

(measurments are in inches)

Range in meters:

 25     50     100     150     200    250   300
 2.2    5.1    9.3     11.7    11.0    7.6    0

Edited to add:  I don't know why, but I can't get the range/inch numbers to spread any further apart so they're easier to read.  They're quite far apart on the message board, but print up all scrunched together.  Sorry
