I searched and found nothing though i am sure this is covered.
I have an AAC Omni (5.56) I'm assuming that AAC will void the
warranty if it is used for 5.7 but could it be done safely? Or with
any other 5.56 suppressor? Or could you only work it in reverse
like a 7.62 suppressor or a 5.7 on a 5.56? Thanks

First of all, I'd contact the manufacturer before doing anything.

I know a guy who's got a 9mm can on a 5.7, he claims it works well but I haven't heard it...

'working it in reverse' is definitely safer.

That's what I'm assuming but I am hoping for a definitive answer. I plan on calling AAC
during business hours but I'm betting the will tell me not to do it, just so they are not held liable for anything that comes from me doing it

FWIW I've seen an AAC m42k in use on a PS90 and it seemed to work great.

In person. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a video of the same though.

I should really learn to check youtube as part of any internet search. Thanks for all the help guys. I called AAC this morning and the conversation went as follows:

"Can I safely fire 5.7 through the Omni 5.56"
"Um hold on..." (I'm pretty sure I was not talking to the tech department) "Yes you can"

no comment on it voiding the warranty or anything. So now to hi-jack my own thread.
I've seen CMMG offers short barrels and thread conversions so you can use flash hiders with a 1x28 thread. Which I need for the Omni, it requires an A2 flash hider. Anyone know any other places that offer similar items. Thanks

Even though the name is different they both use standard .224 bullets.

The 40gr Vmax is the same one used in hornadys 223 loads

And that is why I really need to get into reloading. Thanks for all the info.
