Most appropriate bayo for a 590?

There's only a couple that will fit it.  I prefer the older M7 over the current M9 but that's just my opinion.

A sharp pointy one.

I prefer the M7 also.

just be sure that you dont use a single point sling if you have the bayo mounted.

I have used the bayonet on the end of my 590A1 several times.  Works great for poking around in the underbrush behind the house looking for that rabid critter that just wandered through.

It's really just for decoration... will I actually use a bayonet in my life?  I hope not!

Think about it: a bayonet is at least as practical as a shotshell carrier.  Unless you anticipate CQB situations where you're allowed to call time out for reloading.

Biggest problem with a bayonet is it extends the length of the gun.  Bad news inside buildings.

A friend gave me a M7 bayonet, and it fits my 590A1 perfectly.  The only thing I have ever stabbed with it is a cardboard box.

It gives my 590A1 a MadMax look.  Other than that it is total useless.  If I am ever in a situation that I need to use that thing it is because I have fired every last round from my pistol, rifle, AR and shotgun.

The shotgun/bayonet combo was a WWII invention out of need in trench warfare.  Ever since then you have way too many devices/inventions to override the need for a bayonet on a shotgun except in the situation of a street riot(which case the public at large would not accept the police using as it is almost a "politically incorrect" thing now since that little Kent St. thing)or a prision riot. You really need to ask a simple question...... what kind of bayonet-ing will you be doing? If real heavy duty type of plunging, then you want the M9.
