Separating brass by primer size is a pain in the ass. What primer should I use for the small ones? I like Federal primers.

This, CCI's are pretty easy to pick up at the LGS but still expensive.

I use CCI small pistol primers. I have also used CCI magnum small pistol primers in the past when that was all I could find

I use the same as I do for 380acp...WSP Winchester small pistol.

I have used both CCI 500 & Wolf SRM w/ W231.

Both have worked well. I would use whatever SPP you have on hand.

When I loaded SPP brass, I used CCI small pistol magnum primers with W231/HP38 and VV N320.

But, I got sick of dealing with different sizes, so I'll make this recommendation: There are some guys who like the small primer pockets, because they also load 9mm, and don't have to change primer systems. Consider trading your SPP brass to those guys for LPP, 1:1.

I talked to my local reloading supply guy and he said recipes stay the same, and any small pistol primer should work. I've used WSP as well

I would actually love to have small primer 45 brass! I could just get a conversion kit and crank out ammo without replacing the priming system. Who are all the companies that make SPP 45 brass? i know rws but thats it.

I've also seen Speer offering SPP brass...

I just traded out a bunch of 5.7x28 brass and other misc calibers of brass for a big bag of SPP 45 brass this weekend.. I have a couple k mixed small pistol and small rifle primers that was given to me by a commercial reloader, he uses CCI primers so it is near impossible to tell the difference between them. I shoot a 1911 and SIG 220 that don't mind the thicker cup of the rifle primer.

Im gonna start actively looking for SPP 45 brass. I have large primer brass just sitting here because i dont wanna go thru the hassle of changing priming systems. Yeah im lazy

Me too, but I already have 6000 large pistol primers

To answer your question, federal and CCI are two that come to mind.

I been separating it and saving it but conserving my SPPs for 9mm
