Norrell 10/22 conversion, and the AM180. Don't own either one so I could'nt speak as to reliability.  RPM is high (over 1K).

Probably the most affordable FA .22 would be a MAC10 or M11 with a .22 conversion.  The Flemming conversions reportedly need tweaking for reliable cycling.  Sometimes you can find one that has been tuned by Autowerkes on the used market, but they are not too common.  I should have bought one when C&S Metal Works had his remaining few in stock.

Richard Lage is working on a .22 conversion that uses Vector Uzi .22 mags.

I just recently read that Tactical Innovation has an M11 upper in the works that takes American 180 drums.  Their AR180 goes for around $1500 (I think) so I would expect the M11/180 to be in that same ballpark.

M16/AR15 upper.  www.tacticalinc.com/am15-upper-receiver-am180-drums-m16ar15-p-339.html

I have an AM180 with no issues.  I get a jam every so often but usually 275 rounds are sent downrange in around 13 seconds.   The only bad thing is... it takes 10-15 minutes to load each drum.

The Flemming SubCal conversions I can garantee need F'in tweakin'.  Ask me how I know!  I would'nt waste a dime on those things, wait until one of the others is available.

I have a Norrel F/A 10/22 with the integral suppressed barrel.  Runs 100% with CCI mini mags using Butler Creek steel lips, MWG drum or Eagle plastic mags.  Not so well with the machined aluminum TI mags, but probably would with some mag tuning.  Also, because the suppressor is designed to slow hi vel to subsonic, it doesn't like subsonic or standard vel ammo.  Advertised 800-900 rpm suppressed & 1000-1200 unsuppressed.  Nice thing about the 10/22, there's all sorts of aftermarket suff available, though I've kept mine as it came from Norrell.

It's the same paperwork for an MG or a silencer (or any other NFA stuff for that matter).

I plan on making my own F/A 10/22 someday. It'd be much cheaper then buying one, and the .22 ammo is soooo much cheaper then other ammo. Heck at 10$ a box of 550 I can fire thousands of rounds a week. ^ Deff a must have IMO for the fun factor. They make a mp5 kit for them now dont they?
