These pics are from last months SHOT show. Anyone remember seeing this AR, and do you know what company makes it?

Thanks for the help.

I believe that is a ZM Weapons manufacture.

HighlandMac, thanks for the reply, but I am asking because I'm pretty sure that it is not a ZM Weapons product, and I am curious to find out what other company is making ARs with this redesigned gas system.

Scarecrow, good guess, but it is not an Olympic Arms OA-93.

This is an OA-93...

This is a prototype found at shot show, not a production model, you wont find prototypes by clicking on their website if infact anyone was sure what company made it.

I'm not exactly sure what you are trying to say, but...

1) The OA-93 is not a prototype. It is production rifle.

2) Yes, I'm sure that the weapon in the SHOT show pics is a prototype. What I'm trying to determine is what company makes it.

3) When you said that you thought that it was made by Olympic Arms, were you speaking from first hand experience (i.e. you attended the SHOT show, and you remember seeing this weapon at the Oly Arms booth?)

What I am saying is that the firearm above is probably made by Oly arms, and I did not mistake it for the OA-93. I wouldnt have made this mistake because I know that the shot shot prototype wouldnt be found on their website yet.

And ive seen this in someones picture archive.

Hey Guys,

I got to handle this rifle at the SHOT SHOW, it was right next to the Special Operations Equipment booth, (look at the gear in the back ground) in the Law Enforcements Section toward the very back wall.

This rifle was not a OLY or a ZM, I can't remember the name of the company that made it, but their products are mainly targeted toward Law Enfocement Departments. The wife and I talked to the sales rep from this company and he informed me that they could also convert a preban lower into this same rifle with a 16" barrel. This little rifle was kind of heavy and as I remember the conversion was around $2,000.

I don't know if they do the conversions for civilians or not. I'm heading out to TREXPO (kinda like a SHOT SHOW for SWAT / LEOs / Military) this afternoon. If this company is at TREXPO I'll get some info from them and pass it on. BTW TREXPO west is in Long Beach, CA this year and is goes from Monday the 18th thru Wednsday the 20th.

Hey Jeff (USMC03), I'm planning on hitting Trexpo on Wednesday. Won't be attending seminars, just hitting the aisles of the expo catching up with folks. Shoot me an e-mail if you want to say hi and get together.

Thanks USMC03, keep us informed.

By the way, the company wouldn't be M2 Corp. would it???

NYPatriot,

No it wasn't M2 Corp.

Kato4moto,

I'll also be there, we're getting ready to leave in about an hour so I don't have time to email. You can't miss me, I've got real short blond hair, less than an inch, about 5'06" and 150 lbs. If you see someone matching that description stop by and say Hi. I might be wearing a NY Yankees cap also.

I could have swore someone said Oly made it. Anyways A full sized version, maybe 14.5 inch barrel would be nice. I really want to find out who makes this too, it looks so much better then a Oly and with a rail handguard it would probably be as good as a ZM.

Jeff, will be on the lookout. I'm 5'10"/170 lb. and will probably be the only Asian there with shoulder-length hair. Don't know what I'll be wearing yet, probably a polo-type shirt (motorcycle-related), jeans and running shoes. No hat.

So USMC03, what's the good word?

Was the company at TREXPO?

I didn't see USMC while I was there, nor did I see this gun. But maybe that's just me.

NYPatriot,

I responded to your post over on AssaultWeb as soon as I got home yesterday. The company that makes these rifles were not at TREXPO. To be quite honest I don't remember the exact price, but I do remember that the quality wasn't that great, it was pretty heavy for it's size, and they wanted WAY TOO MUCH for what you were getting. Just my opinion of course.

Kato4moto,

Sorry I missed you at TREXPO

USMC03, thanks for looking out.

Much thanks to "Rock", over at Assault Web.net for answering my question.

The name of the company is Sabre Defense Industries. Their web site is www.sabredefence.co.uk. The AR in the photo is not on their web site yet, but they say that they are updating soon, so keep an eye out.

Allright... What I wanna know is...

HOW THE H#LL DOES IT WORK

Does it use a piston and a shortened bolt carrier? The carrier obviously can't move past the receiver extension...

It's driving me nuts!

Thanks!
Chris

No4MK1, I assume it works in a similar fashion to the ZM Weapons upper.

Check the ZM Weapons group buy thread. I pretty sure someone posted photos of the gas system, and explained how it operates.
