I have my 1919 standing in my safe, barrel down, receiver end up. I'm assuming this is fine because the weight is evenly distributed? I remember reading years ago that they shouldn't sit on the grip or on the barrel at an angle.

I have always done it barrel down, but I don't think it really matters since the things are solid chunks of steel .

I store both of mine barrel up. Spade grip on FA one and pistol grip on the semi I built.

No issues have developed in approximately 10+ years.

I do have 2 to 3" of foam they rest on.

Barrel down.

Put a small piece of cloth under it to protect from any solvents or oil running from the barrel or booster onto the bottom of your safe.

really doesn't matter, up, down, on it's back, on it's side etc..

. I have mine with it's  barrel down, only because it's easier to grab it out of the safe

I have to think how I have mine in the safe. Maybe will put the barrel down.
