I'm looking for a subsonic load from 10" contender barrel.

180gr JHP Remington bulk bullets
Fed 200 primers (or other small rifle/mag pistol primer)
Alliant 2400 powder

7gr of 2400 in a 38 is a starting load
10.5gr of 2400 in 357 is a starting load

Will the 357 load be subsonic? What bout the 38?

Can't help with subsonic loads, all my Contender 357/180 gr loads were full power, H-110 for hunting / silhouette.

AA2400 will NOT get you there! They are slow powders for heavy loads with a possibility of KB's with light loads. Go with a faster powder like Blue Dot or the like.

The above link may help you out some (I haven't tried any of them yet).
