Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - 14.5 barrel?

I was just handed a 14.5 inch barrel. I want to put it onto my rifle. I don't want it as an SBR. I have a compensator that takes it to over 16 inches. what do I have to do to legally install the barrel? weld? nothing? weld and pin?

please give me you input. thanks
