Anyone know where to get good prices on 10mm cases, brass or nickel? Just beginning to reload and haven't found a good deal as of yet.

When hand-loaded the 10mm is a fantastic cartridge. Otherwise, well....

the 10 in a proper firearm is awesome, but like stated, needs to be tweaked for optimum performance, Ala FBI, ala 40 cal.

Check out the auction places and search for 10mm brass

www.auctionarms.com
www.gunbroker.com

Someone on there was selling brass a while back...

EDIT
Yup... found some on Auction Arms and on Gun Broker.

You don't really have to handload for the 10 to be an awesome round, there's still several full power loads out there. 175 Silvertips, 180 Hornady's , etc. Full power loads will definitely show the 10's reason for being, a .40 just doesn't cut it sometimes.

You can order some from Starline Sedalia MO 800/280-6660 or order at www.starlinebrass.com. $58/500 or $101/1000. If you are going to shoot it out of anything except a Glock be sure to down-load it a bit. The 1911-types can't handle the power and you will end up with a cracked frame just behind the ejection port.

The glock is just about all I will shoot anymore in the 10mm area. I have 2 delta elites one stainless and one black. They really are not confortable to shoot with anything that is remotely hot. I think the glock was really thought out, cause I can through in real hotloads and it is like nothing. Thanks for the advice!!

retrodog,
The 10mm is an awesome caliber, especially out of a 6" barrel.

I just couldn't pass up a Miami Vice correlation,,, since that one was so well known.

What about 400CORBON?? That is a very good round. I have one of my Springfield Armory 1911's set up with an Ed Brown 400CORBON barrel and it is great to shoot.

Dot't try this at home, but I've pushed a 180g FMJ from my Glock 20 at 1430 f.p.s.  (Take this with a grain of salt, I'm not very bright and I've blown off a few mag bases in my time) But, I'm in love with the 10mm and it's a thrill for the reloader because of the flexability. I use new Starline for wild loads but often find good deals on once-fires on eBay.

Stay safe,
Joe

OK, you are forgiven.

ah1z,
If you had to have one caliber to do it all, the 10 would be it. It can be loaded with 135gr bullets for fun blasting at the range, 155 and 180 for defense, 180, 200, and 220 for animals up to bear. It is a wonderfully versitile caliber.

My G20 is the best pistol I own, and most accurate.

The only thing I would like to see is more about wound characteristics and expansion. I love the round and I love my G20. It's what I carry for defense, woods, everything. I just want to get a good supply of 10mm and they are so damn expensive. Thanks for all the help, I am going to be a reloading fool soon:)

Once-fired at www.scharch.com.

I ordered 1000 from scharch. It was all Federal. About 80 pieces were split and about 40 more split when I sized or fired them. Not good, but Scharch will send you more if you aren't satisfied. Just call them up. I will order from them again.

A word of warning and caution -  if anyone owns one of those rare Bren Tens, I would definitely not want to shoot full-power factory loads and  risk breaking up a collector's piece, plus spare parts are really hard to come by.

OT: I spoke with a Glock rep, and he says that the Glock 10's are designed from the ground up to handle the full power potential of the 10mm.
