Got me to thinking with the occasional media report such as "supsect's home was searched and a weapon stockpile of 3 rifles, 4 handguns, and several hundred rounds of ammo was discovered", how many of us would fit the media's description? I live in a rural area and its not uncommon for guys to have 20 or more guns in their collection. I have a modest number of guns (would love to have more) and I'm sure my collection would be labeled a "stockpile" by the press.

So how about it, how many stockpilers are out there???

I don't think the number really matters. A Ruger 10/22 and a brick of ammo will be described as a "stockpile" (or better yet, an "arsenal") if the local media wishes to portray you in a negative light.

I have enough to equip my own squad, maybe 2 if I need. FAL's, AR's, HK's, a real nice precision bolt gun, a Benelli M1S90 along with some other combat shotguns. I reload so I always have a 1000 or so rounds around. Never enough because I shoot so much.

I used to teach boobytraps and improvised munitions in the Army, so I could be branded as a potential domestic terrorist by some definitions... Just call ahead so I know you're coming...

I suppose my collection would more than meet the media's definition then. 12 rifles, 2 shotguns, 6 pistols, and 14K of ammo.

I don't call what I have a stockpile, but I guess the media would. But my buddy has over 700 guns and more than 1,000,000 rnds of ammunition and he told me if SHTF I know where to go so no need for me to stockpile.
