i zeroed mine at 50 yards and checked it at 100 for any poi shift. there was none.

But that's the beauty of the 50yd zero, you're never more than an inch high or low from 50 - 200yds so you always get a COM shot. |

First I went to 25 yards to get on paper -
Once that was set, I zeroed at 50 yards. Once that's done, you can indeed use the bottom ring for CQB or 10 yard shots. |

I zeroed it at 25 on paper after my irons then rechecked at a hundred good to go - dot is on my irons post with the co witness.

Ok i just have the center dot and the 65moa outside ring so im taking away if i zero it at 50 i will be within an inch out to 200 and the bottom of circle will be good for cqb -10yard shots

just zero that mess at 100 yards, anything thats closer than that, you put it in the circle and pull the trigger and it dies. Thats why that red dot HAS the circle around it, its easier in a CQB scenario to put the circle around what your shooting at then the dot ON what your shooting at.

The dot being zeroed at 50yds, and the radius of the EOTech circle being 32.5", (65MOA = 65" at 100yds, / 2 = 32.5"), how can you use the TOP of the circle for anything? Are you saying you think the point of impact at 100yds will be 32.5" higher than at 50yds? |

Really guys, read the damn manual. If you set it up the way they intended, it works like a champ. From page 28 of the XPS manual. For 55g .223/5.56: Center dot: 50yd zero AND 200yd zero Lower dot: 500yd zero Bottom of the ring: 7yd zero Top of the ring is NOTHING. |

Um yeah....Not the very top but more like in between the dot & top of the circle. Works on my 3 512's that way zerod at 50. 55gr or 62gr. I hit cans at 100 yards this way.

With a 50Y zero, you'll be roughly 1.7" high at 100Y so if you're able to hold under the reticule for that small of a deviation, you have much better eye sight than I do.

Zeroed to 50 / 200 for me. Used a targeted I stole from here to zero at 25yds then checked at 50 which was right on. Lower tic is for CQC (7yds) as said before.

If I had an EOTech on an AK, I'd zero at 100 since the height over bore is generally high (4").

POA/POI at anywhere from 50-100 is center dot or just above center dot on mine. I use the lower circle for up close. It's not as accurate as the AR, but is combat accurate. |

Kyle Lamb in 'Green Eyes and Black Rifles' recommends a 60m zero. Works out the I think 55.7yds.
