windham src .308 ar 10 any good? How do they compare to the dpms gII and Arma lite def10? Is $1035 a good price for the  Windham?

Thanks

I'd take the WW SRC over the other any day...

Not a big fan of the small frame concept of DPMS

Easier to find parts for the Windham and the Armalite.

The Windham I believe is LR308/SR25 pattern so there are tons of parts makers. And Armalite is what it is. If I were buying again, I'd probably go with the Armalite but I guess it depends on what features they are offering. You are probably looking at a Def10... I'd go Windham... 1:10 barrel vs 1:11.25.... Gas block sits lower than the rail on the Def10 which cold be an issue if you want Magpul sights or other flip sights.

I can't speak to the Armalite, but a buddy of mine has a DPMS 308 and it has not given him any problems. However, it does not shoot as accurately as my Windham 308. I bought the one that comes with the free float rail and lo-pro gas block. The hand guard is a Midwest Industries. My WW will shoot MOA with the right ammo. It loves the heavy stuff, 168g or better. It especially loves the 168g Federal Gold Sierra Match King, or just about any Creedmore ammo. This is a picture of my SRC-308 and my Way of the Gun 5.56. All in all I own three WW rifles. I think they are one of the best values out there if you want a ready to shoot out of the box rifle. No questions asked lifetime transferrable warranty is hard to beat.

I had one and recommend it.  I only sold it because I needed the cash.  I would normally recommend the DEF-10 based on price alone, but if you can get the WW for $1035, that puts it in the same price range.  I don't think you can go wrong with either one.  The DPMS seems to work okay too, once it got past its teething problems, but I think it is a bit more expensive.

I put a Windham on layaway today, now I just need to decide what optic to go with.

Vortex Viper PST Gen II 1-6x. You're gonna love your WW 308. Big Boy AR! Drop a Hiper fire trigger in that thing, feed it some 168g Sierra Match Kings and it will shoot less than 1" @ 100 yards all day long.

I set my Son-in-Law up with a Windham 308 a few months ago.
Its been consistently shooting 1.2 to 1.5" five shot groups with m118lr.

Anyone know if the Magpul MOE mid-length handguard will fit the SRC-308?

You can't go wrong with the WW SRC. Had one, wish I still did. I've owend a couple of custom build and an ar armailte. I preferred the WW. Just seemed more solidly built, simple...and accurate as can be.

Just bought a Del-Ton Echo .308 but it won't really be that after I get done with the upgrades.
