I actually like the Hogue, but prefer the MIAD because I can custom fit it to my hand and I like the storage.
Link Posted: 3/14/2011 9:51:51 AM EST
standard. it just feels right to me.
Link Posted: 3/14/2011 9:53:27 AM EST
my wife has found the TD battlegrip to be the most comfortable in her hands.

she has one on both of her AR's.
Link Posted: 3/14/2011 9:54:40 AM EST
Standard A2 or MIAD.
Link Posted: 3/14/2011 9:55:09 AM EST
how about the Troy CGB? anyone who has one like to comment on it?
Link Posted: 3/14/2011 9:56:44 AM EST
I like the Ergo Sure grip. It just seems to fit in my hand the best. I have one on both of my lowers.

Standard A1 and standard A2 grips are all I use. They feel perfect for me.
Link Posted: 3/14/2011 10:12:57 AM EST
I am running Miads on my carbines (I wish it was a little larger)
SPR- sierra precision grip (once again, I wish it was a little thicker)

My GF likes the Hogue grips.
Link Posted: 3/14/2011 10:20:14 AM EST
miad fits my hand nice
Link Posted: 3/14/2011 10:21:54 AM EST
MIAD
Link Posted: 3/14/2011 10:27:43 AM EST
I prefer the MOE for the simplicity, storage, and it just fits my hand perfectly.
Link Posted: 3/14/2011 10:29:31 AM EST
MIAD fits my big hands with the tall backstrap

Larger Ergo variants are nice too though...

I've got one of those two on all my AR's except for one with a MOE.

Had MIAD grips on all my rifles until I got my first LMT with an Ergo-grip....

Ergo on everything now -

The material is "grippy" without being "tacky".
Good length with feeling like something is missing off the bottom ...

My woman likes the Troy CQB.

The Troy CQB grip is an AK grip for your AR. Like an AK grip? Then you'll like the Troy CQB.
Don't get me wrong, it's a little more ergonomic. But that's basically what it is.
Or if you have small hands. I do not, but it's passable even if you don't. Just not as good as a MIAD for me.

I take my MIAD with a medium backstrap and winterguard.
Squeezed, not shaken or stirred.

It fits better and has a better design than all the gimmicks out there.

I wear large size gloves and here's what I'm currently using on my rifles and carbines:

MIAD - no finger nub on the front strap and medium size rear strap all on my 5.56 carbines
MOE - slightly smaller for me but works OK it's on my 9mm carbine
A2 - I don't prefer the finger nub but it's the correct grip for my A2 clone rifle

What I had before:

DuckBill - same size as the A1 but have an extension to cover the gap between the trigger guard and grip
TangoDown Battlegrip - was a factory supplied grip on one of my lower, too small for my hands
A1 - this was the grip I learned with my first AR SP1, it's a small grip but one of my favorites

For shooters with small hands I would recommend the A1, DuckBill, and TD.

Ergo is thin enough to wear with or without gloves.

Length wise fits the bill.

As far as material - the rubber is "grippy - without being "tacky"

Link Posted: 3/14/2011 10:43:23 AM EST
The stock trigger does not have nearly enough trigger reach for me. I have a MOE, MIAD and Ergo Tactical. They all work well. I probably prefer the MOE.
Link Posted: 3/14/2011 10:50:04 AM EST
The Hogue fits me like a glove. I've only really tried the standard grip and the Hogue though.
Link Posted: 3/14/2011 10:51:09 AM EST
I have tried many of them throughout the years and my favorites are the rubber Ergo and MIAD with the largest backstrap and not finger grooves. I like the rubber Ergo because of its grip and its finger grooves are not too pronounced. The MIAD I like for my precision rifle because it fills my hand better when shooting prone off a bipod.

I had a new gen ERGO on my 308 rifle, but the plug kept coming out with recoil,
so I put a MIAD on that rifle. I liked the MIAD so much with the large backstrap
that I put one on my go-to AR-15. The other three have ERGO grips though.

The main weak point on most grips is the core and/or plug in the bottom. Either
too easy to pop out, or impossible to pop out. or requires a tool.

The MIAD has a rough texture and is hard plastic, but the core is easy to remove
but won't just pop out. The different cores are cool too.

I wish the ERGOs had a more secure plug.

I have tried so many different ones and the MIAD is the best compromise.

I agree, but I have a Magpul MOE on a PSA complete lower I purchased a few months back. I don't think I'll replace it.

I use the MIAD I have large hands and my wife the MOE+you get storage.

Ergo Ambi Suregrip (#4005)

Has a compartment for battery storage, but more importantly it fits like a glove with a little bit of give.

Wont be buying any other pistol grip for any future build.

Link Posted: 3/14/2011 12:08:05 PM EST
I tried a MAID once and liked it.

I use A2 because it is required for the competitions I shoot.
Link Posted: 3/14/2011 12:13:08 PM EST
Ergo grip.

It is much slimmer, and fits my hands better. You know what the say about small hands...
Link Posted: 3/14/2011 12:24:37 PM EST
Ergo here on all my rifles.
Link Posted: 3/14/2011 12:32:49 PM EST
2 Ergo's and a SPR

SPR on my scoped rifle.

Ergos because they feel so right.

I prefer the ones that help lower your grip some like MOE Miad or Stark, so trigger finger lines up with trigger more like the rest of my guns.
I have not decided on a favorite yet. have one waiting for me to make a decision on that to try next.

Darn personal preference gotta love it.
Link Posted: 3/14/2011 12:57:26 PM EST
A1 or MIAD. Hate the bump on the A2.
Link Posted: 3/14/2011 1:02:41 PM EST
A2 w/ the finger shelf shaved off on my carbine and Stark SE-1 on my scoped rifle. The stark is extremely ergonomic, placing the hand at the right angle and distance from trigger (for me). I am curious about the Sierra Precision SPR grip.. might give one a try.

I wish I could find something like the MIAD but with the Stark (1911) grip angle.
Link Posted: 3/14/2011 1:03:36 PM EST
Ergo. Fits my hand the best compared to the A2, Hogue, and MIAD. I love the look and storage of the MIAD, but the Ergo is defintly the best for me
Link Posted: 3/14/2011 1:03:41 PM EST
TD BattkeGrip. I hate the nub on the A2 because I hold the pistolgrip with a high tang grip. My middle finger ends up on top of it and it hurts. The TD also has a little extension at the top that blocks off a part of the trigger guard that also hurts my hand when using the A2 grip. The MOE is okay, but you need an aftermarket trigger guard. I haven't really tried anything else.

Ergo with the suregrip texture, im right handed so i always buy the right handed versions, the thumb rest is great.

Ergo on all my ARs

plus they are lighter than the standard grip
Link Posted: 3/14/2011 1:35:18 PM EST
Ok, you all like ERGOs, and I do too actually...

I wish the MIAD would buy the ERGO a drink and bang the hell out of it.

+1 Ergo ambi suregrip fits best in my small hands.

The MOE is the best grip I've felt, much better than the A2 grip.
Link Posted: 3/14/2011 2:41:33 PM EST

The original A1 with a gapper for me.

A1. It just fits.
Link Posted: 3/14/2011 2:58:52 PM EST
magpul miad

The grip in the lpk sucked bad...inless I wanted to pull the trigger with the side of my finger. The MIAD with the larger parts fits as a grip should.

Small hands -Tango Down

My wife is petite & has small hands and loves hers over all others

(I would like her to try that Troy though as it looks pretty good for smaller hands as well)

small hands = troy grip, although hogue is comfortable as well.
