Im going to Kabul afganistan in 2005 and ive been looking for a scope. I really want a acog ta31 with triangle but there is about an 8 month wait. Ive been looking at some ta01 nsn on ebay. Are these good scopes and can i easily transition from cqb shooting to medium/long. Ive read the ta01 nsn is not a good scope for cqb. Is this true? Im going to the wanenmacher gunshow in tulsa OK would this be a good place to pick up a ta31 or not? Thanks guys.

I don't know where in OK you are, but here in Dallas at Bachman Pawn, they sell NIB TAO1NSN for 799.00. I think the people on Ebay are screwing people.

The TA01 series doesn't have the BAC feature that makes the otheer models more suited for CQB. The NSN model does have iron sights on top. They are not the best, but they will do in a pinch. As mentioned before, check the EE for people selling their TA31s or even TA11s. There has also been word that a smallshipment of ACOGs hasbeen shipped to the retailers. Check out the Industry forum and see if anyone has one in stock.
