The Swiss 62 grain Nato also has the Military pop and acurate as hell too.
Just bought a case of Q3131. |

The Malaysian is M193 spec, but remember, it's old surplus - the Fed XM193 is current production.
Q3131 and Q3131A is as good as the XM193. ~ s0ulzer0 |

so I supposed the Fed XM193 and winchester qm3131a is the good stuff
hot ammo with that pop? with all the choices out there its tough to make a decision as to what to purchase but I suppose I will stick with the Fed XM193 or QM3131A. and maybe get some Wolf for blasting away the soda cans and fruits last question is I shot a super accurate varminter this weekend Bushmaster 24" varminter both versions fluted and SS barels I now want to get one what is a good recommended highly accurate ammo for that purpose not that Im a great shot but for someone who is fairly new I was grouping 10 shots in a 3-4 inch group at 100 yards and hitting soda cans laid on their side to hit the tops also |

M193 isn't a brand, it's a set of specifications created by the US military for a specific ammo load. Anyone could take the requirements and load ammo to those specifications and it would be M193.
Known brands/models of ammo that meet M193 specs: [New-Production] - Federal XM193 (it's really Lake City M193) - Winchester Q3131A (it's really IMI M193) - IMI M193 [Surplus - suitable for practice, but not for duty] - South African battlepacks (all gone, though) - Malaysian (difficult to find, mostly gone) - '98 and earlier Korean PMC (or PS, the military headstamp) - Austrian Hirtenberger 5.56 (impossible to find) Most ammo available today is ".223", meaning it's loaded to SAAMI-safe pressures; about 200 fps slower than M193 specs. M193 is hot miltiary ammo. -Troy |
