What is a Leupold M8-6X scope? it is being offred for sale used but in good condition. It is has a gloss black finish, adjustable objective, 33mm obj. 25mm body. owner said it was discontinued early 90's. How ill I know if its not just a rimfire scope made by leupold?

6X33 is thier standard hunting scope.
6X42 is more desirable.
Scope will be parallaxed fro 150 yards, not really a good distance for a Rimfire.

thanks, so you mean its a high power scope and not just a rimfire scope? because im afraid to accidentally mount it on an AR then learn that its just for rimfires.

You'll be fine on an AR.
Typical Rimfire (50yds.) distance will have some parallax issues.
