I would be anxious to see how precise they copy it. These guys do awesome work and they are expensive, but with an AR type rifle, with very little hand fitting required, they might not be priced to high. Thanks for the heads up.

I sent them an e-mail to see what their timeline on delivery and what the cost may be. I guess I will wait to see if they respond. I may have to call them.

Well, this will be interesting!
They're only about 20 minutes from the house...maybe I should stop by and see what they're up to.  Hell, I'd be willing to take over #748 if they need a good template.
I wonder what they'll use to produce the furniture.

US Armament is a great company, I know both Kurt and John.  Real gun guys.

This is quite intriguing.

OlGunner: Retro Force Recon.

I would be happy if they only made a replica 601 lower in semiauto with the correct rollmarks and a true 1 in 14 twist barrel with the correct cast fsb

I wonder if they'd be the right guys to replicate the early AR10?

Perhaps JT will get a commercial contract doing the Furnature for them.

Sounds great and parts are getting harder to find and once found are expensive. I think what motivates a lot of us retro builders is the "thrill of the hunt"
Just my .02.

I hope they do it justice!
If they do, I'll buy one even though I have an almost all-original example.

If it is not made by Colt it is not a Colt product, just a replica.
Personally, I will stick to my real Colt 601 complete upper with the Nodak Spud lower with it original Colt parts.

We need more reproduced parts to confuse new people looking for originals... That's just what we need.

Hey,  good on you for going the distance on your clone replica.  Keep in mind another $25,000 or so will make it a real Colt 601.

Teasing aside,  reproductions have their place and good on another company joining the fray as long as they take the ethical approach like NoDak and mark their parts.

The paper or corpse with holes isn't going to ask if it was all colt parts used....company making reproductions, cool not everyone has the tools, brains, and talent it takes to rebuild these. But, that's america... FREEDOM to choose, FREEDOM to build your own, and FREEDOM to buy it off the shelf
