I'm a noob. Just wondering if any one has install a titanium firing pin and what their experience is. I see it as a part in the Bushmaster catalog.
I understand it's an option but is it overkill?

Don't waist your money.

The only advantage of a titanium firing pin is that the lighter weight results in less energy when it taps the primer as the bolt closes. I've used them in a competition rifle for 6 years with no problems. Another option is to use CCI mil-spec primers, but I want more flexibility in load development (the WSR works best with the powders and bullets I use). The downside factors are cost and the likelyhood of pierced primers destroying the titanium pin; I don't choose to load hot enough that piercing would be a problem.
