[b] For the money the RRA is pretty good. The RRA trigger is a drop in so you won't need any special tools other than what you probably have now. If you have deep pockets, the KAC two stage trigger is the cat's meow! It runs around $275. It is the best two stage trigger out there. That is what I have on my SPR's Bushy lower.

This has been covered a few times before, and the answer is always the same - for the money, RRA (preferably a White Oak Precision version). If money is no object, Knight's.

What is the advantage of a 2-stage trigger. Would one work on a select fire AR15?

The KAC is the BEST, but I ain't spending $275 for it.
I'll take the pretty damn good RRA trigger at $90 shipped from D-M here on the boards. If you want a little better RRA trigger get the one tuned by John Hollinger. Ed |

Thanks for everyone's help and comments. I will probably go with the RRA trigger since it is cheaper. I don't want to pay too much since I will invest a lot of money in the upper. I am going to have Wes at MSTN get me the parts for the upper. Now, where is the best place to buy these triggers?

When the RRA fails on you get the KAC 2 stage... its worth the coin more than any other accessory I have ever bought.

Why ask what is the best when you're really asking what's the most expensive?
Another vote for the Jewell - mine is set for 8 ounces and hasn't failed even on mil-surplus ammo at that weight in four years and a few thousand rounds. There's not even a hint of creep - the trigger isn't pulled so much as pressed at that weight. It ajusts quite easy from the top without dissassembly. Adjustments are made easy enough by moving a small lever into another one of a bunch of keepers. Simple. YMMV. PS- I wouldn't put any match trigger in a SHTF weapon. |

Just do a search in the last 3 months we have had the 2 stage going to a single stage and other RRA triggers failing to function. Not to mention the large number whos trigger weight goes out of calibration with use. If you have never heard of a RRA trigger failure your not a frequent AR15.com surfer. I heavily considered one but the failure rate was just oo high for me. I decided to go with a trigger that was more reliable and had set screws vs. one that had no set screws and was less reliable.
PS: The KAC trigger is a match trigger that is used by the military in the SPR in the most adverse conditions you could imagine. I would pick it as dead even in reliability against a stock AR15 or M16 trigger. |

Although this person i know will tell you that jewell triggers are the worst/low end you can get, i believe them to be an superior trigger. Although i have never shot a KAC or RRA, i do however, own a Jewell 2-stage in my AR. It completely adjustable, as PAUL said they can be adjusted to zero creep. I also have jewell triggers installed in several of my bolt guns and they also perform flawlessly. In my humble opinion MarineNP, i would definitely take a serious look at the Jewell.

I did a search for the last [i]six[/i] months and this is all I can come up with - one member had an RRA go to single stage.

The Jewel is an excellent match trigger. Far more adjustable than the KAC trigger but less suited to a combat role. Probably better for a pure match trigger since it can be adjusted to a lower weight. |
