All of the mags that i look at on the internet (lancer and magpul) are for 5.56 rounds. I know that the rounds are similiar.  Do they just assume that I should know that my 223. rounds will work in their magazines?

You're off to  roaring start!!!!!

When I called them "clips" early on this site, I could h - e- double toothpicks.  Clips are for the garand and surplus bolt action rifles.  They are mags.

99.999999999999999999999999999% of ar's are chambered for 5.56 and will accept .223 and 5.56.  You should be GTG.

True, except not as many ARs are really chambered for 5.56 NATO as you think.  All .223 Remington ammo will work in 5.56 NATO chambers with no issues.  Not all .223 Remington chambers will handle 5.56 NATO ammunition.

556 magazine will eat everything; while 223 magazine are not safe to use with 556 rounds.

I've never seen a .223 chambered AR.  But, I don't look at everyone's AR.  I hear there are a few out there.  I dare you to find one.

Actually, just start with DPMS.  Many manufacturers claim their chambers are 5.56 as a generic term.  Not everyone means 5.56 NATO.

DPMS .223 AR, just one of many...

I do believe they ARE 5.56 even though they call it a .223.  To them it's symantics.  To people that know better, it's not.  But you can safely fire 5.56 through DPMS' AR's.  That's how I understand it.

I can appreciate how you feel.  Others have felt this way before.  What they've found is that not everyone who makes ARs reports their information correctly.    Sorry, just got off a sales training conference call.

This rifle is also fromthe DPMS website, illustrating that they do differentiate a difference between .223 and 5.56 NATO, whether they build 'em that way or not.

I see what you're saying.  I wonder what chamber they are using for their .223 marked rifles.  I'm betting it's a wylde, but I could be wrong.
