Last night I switched my stock from the original CAR collapsable to the fixed AR. The previous owner was nice enough to throw it in on the deal, however, the finish of it almost looks dulled more than normal. Is there something I can either clean it with or coat it with to restore some luster to it? Oh, and what is a good whole rifle oil to wipe the entire AR down with? My brother told me that the Marine Corp frowned on them using WD40 and he can't remember what he used.

Eezox will work well for both, but I see no reason to put oil on a plastic stock.

Use breakfree clp it will work for cleaning and protect your weapon!! Also use it on the stock and buff it out and the stock will shine. You may have to do it several times with a liberal amount of clp !!!

I never knew the AR was supposed to shine!

I don't necessarily want the stock to shine, but it is dull beyond belief. Where does one get this breakfree?

Local gun store would be a great place to look. If he cant get it goto Wally World (Wal-Mart) they will have it there.

I just prefer to use the firearms dealer for my firearms needs.
