When did Colt stop making the sp-1 and what years did they use the greenish/black color?Did they use the green/black early then go to the gray/black then back to the green/black or was it an option or was it for a certain run of rifles?I have seen some early 70's that are gray/black and green/black and a 1980 that is green/black.It is sooo confusing!!!Thanks.

Colt SP1 rifles were made from 1964-1985.

I have no idea about the greenish color. Is it possible that they were packed in an oily substance similar to cosmoline which caused a change in the tint?
