hello, folks–

just got my first AR-15 this week. it's a RRA tactical entry model (i replaced the short stock with an A1 stock). took it out for a test drive this week and i am hooked. very nice shooter. why did i ever wait so long to buy one of these things? a couple of questions, though… any help would be appreciated.

• it has that cheesy "fake brake" thing on the muzzle. is that simply press-fitted to the barrel or is it permanent? i'd like to put a real post-ban muzzle brake on it at some point.

• i eventually will get another upper for it (i'm thinking a 9mm). if i buy a complete bolt/carrier upper and the 9mm mag block adapter, will i be completely good to go (besides mags)?
