I see folks with railed uppers, gas blocks AND handguards and I'm wonderring what all those rails are for?

I built mine for the "Cool" factor!

No real purpose in mind, but a ton of fun to shoot.

It's for those who have poor taste.

I like rails on AR pistols cause they look good, IMO.  To me, AR pistols are all about having fun; practicality is of little concern.  Here's mine w/ some rails:

Hey Rose- that is a sweet looking gun, how about a rundown on the parts and where you got them?

I added some specs to my entry in the AR-pistol picture thread tacked up top.

Because if you mount a holosight, or other red dot, and possibly a laser or flashlight, suddenly you are able to aim your "pistol" with far better accuracy, and it goes from toy to weapon in nothing flat.

That's so very MP-5SD of you.

Really what are you using for the mag and mag block?

It's not a 9mm upper, what is the caliber?

Glad you like my AR22SD.

The pistol is using a Ciener .22 kit and .22 mags.  The can is a Coastal M-223 inside of a Olympic FRISH FF handguard.  The receiver is an Olympic reg'ed as a Pistol.  The barrel is a chrome-lined pencil .223 cut-down to 5.5 and threaded 12x28.  The buffer is for looks only as the .22 kit does not use a buffer...MadDog

p.s. THIS BABY IS QUIET and fun to shoot with the red dot!
