Get a rail mounted sling mount. A bunch of companies make them from excellent quality to so so. My personal favorites are the Dieter CQD and the Knights QD Swivel.

+1 on the KAC. I haven't tried the Dieter, but I wanted a QD. |

I have the light weight YHM FFT on my 16" J&T kit rifle. YHM makes a sling mounting stud that screws into the float tube. Check 'er out:

GG&G makes good QD and standard rail mount sling attachments.

I've got three KAC and one GG&G, all gotten off of the EE for the same price as others, like YHM. I like the KAC very much.
