can anyone direct me to those threads dealing with skewed front sight bases, and what to

do about fixing this problem ??? thanks !!

First off, can you zero the rifle and still have room left over in the rear sight housing (even a few clicks will do). If this is the case, then the barrel just needs to be reindexed in the upper socket to center out zero the rear sight (reinstalled or leather mallet drifted).

If you can't zero the rifle with the rear sights (even with the rear sight cranked all the way over), the barrel extension pin and the FSB are just too out of wack/index from each other, and the solution is to just buy a new correctly produced barrel (read cheaper in the long run then either an adjustble FSB since the old taper pins slots would need to be filed or god forbid, either re-indexing the Fixed FSB/barrel extension.
