Hypothetical question: If I had a preban weapon (threaded barrel) and a .223 suppressor, then decided to use an M261 or Ceiner kit on that preban weapon, could the same suppressor be used with the 22lr round?

I know that would be more suppressor than necessary for sound reduction of 22lr, but is there more risk of damage to the suppressor since the 22lr would be bounciing down the barrel?

no problems. there's a little more clearance in the average .223 suppressor. What you're suggesting is commonly done.

I had a feeling you'd be the man with the answer! I was going to name the thread: Attn: Quietshootr.

Any problems with lead build-up? My flash suppressor got coated nicely one day with about 500 rds of .22LR.

yeah, you need to watch that..but popping a few .223s every 250 rounds or so would probably keep it clean.

Not a problem! Still loud with CCI stingers, but completely silent with subsonic .22.
