Thanks for reading. I have a Rock River CAR A4 midlength, and would like to put a rail system on it. The front handguard cap is triangular. It appears the Surefire model that would work is the M85. The barrel is very heavy. Does anyone know if the barrel will interfere with the fore end? I am also open to any other suggested fore ends from other brands. I tried the search function, but had no luck.

Thanks.

The MI #21 will work also, and since it's a free-float, it will stop short of your handguard cap eliminating any interference.

MI#21 @ Bravo Company USA

I've got the MI#18 non free float on my middie. Got it from Bravo Company for $148 I believe. Tell them you have the triangular cap. MI makes different versions fo both.

The first thing I'd do is spend $50 - $60 having the barrel re-profiled to something a little less meaty.

HBAR is one thing, but the RRA barrels are HBAR+ (IMHO) since they have no taper at all under the handguards, and are literally a bull barrel up to the gas block.

ADCO or AR15barrels.com could reprofile your barrel to something more manageable (my vote is .700-.740ish and you'd shave off 10 ounces or more in the process.

If you use ADCO, you could have Steve add a Daniel Defense 9.0 while he has it, and installation should be free. Your rifle would actually weigh less with the DD and a reprofile than it does currently.
