Hello sorry for asking such a dumb question, I'm trying to remove the flash suppressor on my A1 upper and I was wondering if an action block would be required?  Also is the threading lefty loosey/righty tighty, or the other way around?

I hate to use the phrase, but yes, it is right tighty.......  An action block should not be required.  Simply brace the weapon and throw a wrench on it.

Use an action block for mounting or removing barrels from the receiver.

Use barrel vise jaws for installing or removing flash hiders.

I usually just plop my fat ass on the rifle with the end of the barrel hanging off the end of the workbench and turn away. Some of the older ones can be a bitch to get off.
