What is the difference between the TA01 and the TAO1NSN model?
Link Posted: 10/22/2004 8:05:03 PM EST
TA01NSN has the Flat top base already mounted and has the backup sights on top of the scope. The TA01 is just the ACOG scope itself. The reticle is also different, I could be wrong tho.

sweet. thanks for the link. Also, can this be used BAC style and can you change the magnification power?

No on both questions.

I say go with the regular TA01. The red reticle (and the fact that the whole thing is illuminated) is better than the amber center illumination, IMHO. The iron sights on the NSN model isn't that important, at least to me. I think the positives of the TA01 outweigh the negatives and I think the positives of the TA01 outwiegh the positives of the TA01 NSN.

Although in the end, if you have a choice, I'd go with one of the BAC models instead of any of the TA01s.
