Anyone know of any smithy in Illinois who can install a flash-hider on a postban barrel? Also what's the cost (abouts) of this type of smithing.

I'm trying to figure out what's more cost effective, swapping out the barrel while worrying if the colt bolt and bushy barrel will headspace, or just having the thing smithied (thus loosing out on that "dreaded" bayo lug).

thanks

there is no 'gunsmith' in illinois that is setup to handle major volumes of flash suppressor installations..i am reasonably certain that machinists used by RRA and Armalite are severely backlogged..you may want to consider sending your upper to a shop that is setup to handle volume post-AWB business..if you check the Industry Forum listings you will find several that could help

In PA it cost me 25 bucks + cost of materials I supplied the FS, and peel washer. It is a 16" barrel so I left the old FSB on. I cant use a bay with it so no need for it.  I Gave him the complete upper. sights went back to mech zero after the FS install. Before they were 6 right.
