Does anyone have any experience with these types of ARs. I bought a gently used Polycarbonate AR  by Vulcan MFG.  It might be my head screwing with me but when i was sighting it in , the sight had to all the way to the right to hit target. could it be warped?

Has any body heard of polycarbonate ARs warping under the heat of the sun.?

throw it in the river and thank me later.

but seriously, no, I have never heard of carbon ar15s warping due to the sun.  I think it has more to do with the manufacturer of the gun, rather than the sun's heat.  You will find Vulcan has a less than stellar reputation around here.

Its probably not polycarbonate, If it is polycarbonate, the receiver would probably melt.  Polycarbonate is a plastic that melts at 250-300 degrees.  It is what most modern eyeglass lenses are made of, and is usually clear or opaque.  You probably have a carbon fiber receiver which is likely to go Kaboom.  Sell it.

I'm going with "poorly machined upper".

Personally, I'd take it fishing next chance you get.

what could the receiver material have to do w/ a KaBoom when the pressure is contianed by the chamber, barrel extension and bolt?  The receiver is not part of the lock up.
