Federal is a good brand. Wolf's new ammo would be my first choice.

Fed AE
Rem UMC PMC Norinco yellow box if available. The cheaper the better for me for blasting ammo. |

Does Federal AE and Remington UMC come close in terms of performance to XM193?
if that's the case, i'll start shooting that stuff instead. |

It runs about 100 to 150 fps slower, and sometimes more, than a M193 equivalent load. It wouldn't be my first choice for SHTF ammo, but if you're just poking holes in paper or tin cans, what difference does it make if your bullets frag or not. POI differences between AE and UMC and XM193 are negligible in my guns out to 100 yds. I have three groups of ammo. Home defense...BH 75 OTM SHTF....When I run out of BH 75, I'll switch to XM193 and Q3131A Range fun......Almost anything else that's cheap. |

HSM, a few cents cheaper than factory ammo. Decent performance for rec. shooting.

Several people in a recent class in S. California were running the Georgia Arms Canned Heat, and were pleased with the performance. It was enough to convince me to order 2K to use in another upcoming class, rather than my stash of XM-193 zombie ammo...

I use either XM193 or Federal American Eagle.
