I'm new to the forum and have a colt post ban with a detachable carry handle. I have not shot it in at least three years.
  I'm looking to put a scope on it or some kind of  dot or holographic sight on it.  I'm looking for recommendations for what to get and prices. Also, can I put a scope on top of the carry handle? If the carry handle is removed and placed back on are the sights still zeroed? What kind of mount would be used?

  Any help is appriciated.

this entire forum is devoted to answering these basic questions, but unfortunately, there is no short cut to knowledge ..as a tip, start reading the locked threads and then work your way to the newer posts..generally, dump your detachable carrying handle and look at aimpoint/eo tech or for magnification look at ACOG..all these questions/answers primarliy depend on how you use your rifle..hunting/targets/self defense/wall trophy all have thier unique solutions..good luck and happy reading !
