I just bought a pre-ban olympic and I am having difficulties getting ANY upper to mate to it(except the stock one which i cant use)if i put the front takedown pin in,it will close to the point where the rear takedown holes line up about half way...and then it wont go any more.Any suggestions on what to do would be appreciated.Im thinking I'll have to grind the ear on the upper that slides into the lower to make it thinner, but I just wanted some input from others first. Thanks

I'm sorta having the same problem. When I close the upper, after putting in the fron tpin, the upper and lower come into contact about a inch or so back form the front pin. Then I have to force them closed.

It's seem like the fron ttake down pin may be too low. I'm thinking of reaming the bottom of the takedown hole on the upper a little.

i did try lubing and forcing them together, but no dice.its still too tight. There are friction marks on the rear lug of the upper where you can tell it was being forced.Im just looking for others who might have had this problem with an olympic stop sign lower, and what they did to remedy the problem.

Some of the problems I have seen were the rear lower and upper pin holes not lining up front to back a little bit. Also saw one  the front pivot hole was to close to the mag well and the upper receiver lug would bind against the lower as it was being closed or opened.
Are you sure something else is not stopping it from closing?
