i am lookin at this as a possible knockaround rifle

its cheap"has me concerned"

and i have ammo and mags allready

how would it fare as a project gun?"learning some basic ar smithing"

You'd probably be better off scrounging the EE for good used parts and assembling one yourself.

could i build one cheaper than that?

You can find a used chrome lined upper with bolt carrier group then a mega lower for $90ish and LPK for the $30-50 range, add a used furniture set and you're good to go.   You'll have roughly the same $$ invested but a better rifle.    My last build cost me about $350ish total.   Just have to watch the EE for smokin good deals.
