what's the big deal with labelle?

Some of the labelle mags come with a special teflon coating which is a lot more durable. Otherwise they are the same as any other USGI mags. The majority of the labelles though are probably Powder Coat.

The big deal isn't the Labelle, but the Labelle made USGI similar quality, teflon coated magazines. These were made in the waning days before the assault weapon ban became law, and all these past ten years, these mags have been extreme in price and most coveted by many with a fine taste in magazines. Many people have gone to a lot of trouble resurfacing their magazine with all kinds of concoctions to emulate the superiority of the teflon coat.
Only recently, has a large supply of these NIW Teflon magazines come out of the cracks, at a really good price.--Thus the Big Deal.

This is a really good time to buy them, too. The prices are low because large quantities have been dumped on the market due to the possible sunset (whether this has any bearing on reality is for a different thread). I don't see prices getting much lower but I can definitely see them going back up if new, tougher legislation is enacted.

Teflon Labelle's for $20 and under = go for it.
