i like to keep things light and simple.  here is my version of the SPR





CMT lower
Oly Rifle length FIRSH
Colt 1/7 gvnt 20" cut to 18" threaded w/A2
RRA gas block
Armalite 1 piece scope rail/ fire control parts/charging handle
Colt M16 butt stock (pre-A1)
Super Sniper scope
G-27 grip
ACE Ltd. solid front sling swivel
the vertical foregrip is an Advanced Armament (i think IIRC)
all other small parts i had laying around from various sources

haven't fired it yet because i am still waiting on the bolt/carrier

Nice rifle! I like the do-it-yourself attitude. You saved a bundle and lost nothing in real world performance.

Here's a pic of my "SPR". It's an A3 Bushy Govt profile with a Briley FF Tube, Rails, JP trigger/speed hammer, Ergo grip, ARMS 38 S-Ex Swan Sleeve/22Med Rings, YHM front sight, Ashley same plane rear aperture, Smith Comp and a Trijicon TR21 Accupoint.





Here's some 300 yard groups fired from a bipod with 55 grain reloads.

i plan on shooting it.  should be less than a month til i have the funds for the bolt/carrier.

    nice rifle!  i am just finishing one up like it for my varmint rig.  i just need to drill and tap the gas block for set screws and it should be ready.  i'll post pics of that one in a day or two.
