i'm currently using a trc rail on my ARMS#22 rings
i'd like to purchase either of these microdots, what mount is neccessary to get this sight on this rail?
dovetail/stanag adapter or something else?
also, i noticed docter is way more expensive, are they worth the extra funds???
any micro dot porn out there???? let's see your setups
All the sights (Dr. Optic, J-Point, Optima, etc) can be had with a rail mount that will mount right to a 1913 or weaver rail.
Dr. Optic are definitely a cut about the rest, glass window and metal body compared to plastic window and plastic body of all the others.
Quote from Military Moron "The Docter, however, is superior in almost every respect, being made out of stainless steel, brass and aluminum instead of plastic. The lens is made of two optical quality pieces of glass instead of plastic."
That said I've had no problems with my Optimas on ARs and an UZI. Lots of guys are running these dot sights as backups on ACOGs, so aftermarket mounts are available for those.
Military Moron has great photos of a Docter mount via an ARMS 17DR. LINK Then select AR15s, Rails and Uppers, 1/2 way down the page.
I'm betting Wes at MSTN could fix you up, see below:

wow, thanks for the info
what's that offset mount your using on the bottom pics? seems the only solution when using M1 target turrets
why bother mounting iron sights if you have this type of set-up? isn't it overkill?? nevermind cost prohibitive and added weight
None of the photos are of my gear (just plain jane mounts on my stuff).
I just got the photos doing a search here on the board.
