hello everyone

im a newbe building my first ar.  I want to know if I can put a moe handguard on with a different gas block.  Im going to go with a scope and dont want the sight in the way.  Should i go fold down sight block or a block with a rail on top and put a magpul front mbus on that.  I have just never seen a moe handguard on a gun w/o the traditional a2 sight. Ive only seen rail systems.  I appreciate the help.

I put a 4 rail gas block in front of a MOE handguard. It did fit, but I'd use a single-rail gas block to be more sure.

Don't put a plastic front sight on a gas block - Magpul will tell you the same. I'd stick a Troy up there with no qualms though.

I had MOE handguards on a rifle with a single rail gas block.  Worked just fine.  Sorry, don't have pics and the rifle no longer is configured that way.

I was worried about the front sight as well on one of my first builds, but I can tell you that unless it's a 1-4x optic you probably won't see the sight anyway. I originally bought a folding front gasblock sight (MI, i think) and ended up not needing to put it on as all you end up seeing through a scope is MAYBE a darker area at the 6 o'clock position on a lower magnification (4x or 6x) once I zoomed in further it is basically a non-issue.

I have a carbine with a normal FSB and with a 1-4X scope there is a bit of ghosting below about 2.5x.  Above that, there are no artifacts in the FOV.
